Clarification regarding students who are or are going to clinic/internship

As a student in (not least the health education programs) you must attend clinic/internship if you are currently in a clinical education course/internship, unless you hear otherwise from the clinical educational institution.

Of course, you should not attend a clinic/internship if you are ill or if your own physician considers you to be at risk. Nor if you have traveled in any of the designated risk areas within the last two weeks.

Students in a Region

If you are in a clinic/internship in a region, the main rule is that you should continue your clinical training course, and we consider it to be equivalent to a normal clinical training course, even if you do not receive teaching in the same way as usual. There may be some hospitals that behave differently, so you may be asked not to attend.

Students in a municipality

If you are in a clinic/internship in a municipality, it is different from municipality to municipality how they handle the situation. Therefore, as a student, you may find that someone must attend a clinic while others should not.

Students scheduled to start a clinic/internship

If, as a student, you were scheduled to start in the clinic/internship over the next 14 days, you should continue to set out to start unless you are informed otherwise from the clinic/internship.

University Colleges Denmark have asked regions and municipalities to report back to the University Colleges whether they receive students or send students home, so that we have a comprehensive overview on this matter.

If you find yourself in a situation where you have not completed a planned clinical training course, then we as an institution will assess whether it can be considered completed or whether supplementation of one kind or another is needed.

Should students join possible corona emergency units

As you may have heard, it may be the case that the health system will ask students from especially health programs to join a possible corona emergency unit. When we are notified you will be informed as soon as possible. So far, the main message from the authorities is that you cannot or should not participate in any coronary emergency unit if you are in an internship, but only if you are not in an internship.

If you, as a student, have a study job in the health care sector it is of great importance that you offer your assistance as all the forces in the current situation are needed. However, it is also important that you set aside time to study so that you can meet learning objectives as far as possible at the end of the module.
