Support for Erasmus+ exchange students

1. Information about Erasmus+ Mobility Scheme

Staff and Students studying at various higher education institutions may participate in Erasmus+ Mobility Schemes. Please ask your Home Institution for further information.

2. Information about Erasmus+ Access Needs Support

Students studying at KP under Erasmus+ are eligible for a supplementary grant via the Erasmus+ Special Needs Support programme link:

The Erasmus+ supplementary grant is an additional grant beside the Erasmus+ grant for staff and student mobility, including study mobility or Erasmus+ work placements (traineeship), to support covering the cost of additional access needs (such as accessible accommodation, travel assistance, medical attendance, supportive equipment, adaption of learning material, accompanying person or personal assistance) of students and staff with disabilities.

This additional support grant is a contribution based on real costs.

Eligibility: This additional funding is available for participants with conditions relating to physical or mental health.

In general: The sending institution should ensure that the necessary arrangements are made with the receiving institution in order to meet the access and learning needs of the individual student.

At application stage – Incoming Students – Participating in Erasmus+ mobility Programme at KP

1. Your Erasmus+ mobility: plan ahead

Ask the Erasmus+ coordinator at your own Home Institution about the application procedure of the Erasmus+ mobility scheme and Erasmus+ Special Needs Support (for example, the application deadline, and where to find and submit your application form).

2. Who can help you at your home Institution? (sending institution)

Ask the International Coordinator and Disability Officer (if there is an appointed person at your institution) for further information about the mobility opportunities.

3. Who can help you at the host Institution? (receiving institution)

Write to the International Coordinator (see Contact us) for further information about accessibility options at KP.

The international coordinator will contact the disability officer at KP. The disability officer at KP can help to identify special needs options at KP as well as actual costs.

4. Who to contact

In order to find the right solutions for you, it essential that you and the international coordinator at your Home Institution (sending higher education institution) contact the KP International Coordinator in time for them to put in place any support services you may require during your mobility period.

5. Access Needs Assessment

The KP International Coordinator will work with you and a KP Disability Officer to identify the services KP is able to provide and the estimated cost.

It is essential that all your access needs and their costs (because of the impact of your condition or disability) are explained and justified.

The needs assessment can progress more successfully if KP can fully understand what you need to complete a study exchange at KP.

6. Information provision about services & accessibility for you and your home institution

KP will send all relevant and available support, accessibility information, and a cost estimate to you and your Home Institution, who can assist you in applying for additional support from Erasmus+.

7. Procedure for the assessment of your application for the Erasmus+ supplementary grant

Your Home Institution and/or your National Agency will assess your application and will decide on the additional amount you may receive. It is essential that all your access needs and their costs (because of the impact of your condition or disability) are explained and justified.

8. Disclose your access needs to the KP Accommodation Team

Incoming students must also notify the KP Accommodation Team about any specific requirements. This will enable the Accommodation Team to prioritize accommodation according to your needs.

Accessibility of Teaching and Learning Environment at KP

1. Physical Accessibility on KP campuses

KP’s international courses are offered at two different locations: Campus Carlsberg and Campus Hillerød.

Both campuses conform to current national building rules on accessibility.

2. Teaching & Learning Environment at KP

Once you are admitted to KP, please contact the KP International co-ordinator and the Disability Officer for further detailed information about the accessibility of courses.

3. Social Life during your mobility programme

Once you are admitted to KP, please contact the KP student services, who can provide you with further detailed information about the accessibility of extra-curricular activities.
