Foreign Language didactics with a particular focus on student abilities

This module poses the following questions:
How does one plan and carry out English language instruction adapted to diverse target groups?
How does one justify, assess and develop English language instruction adapted to diverse target groups?
Which influence does one’s view on one’s subject have on the practical planning of the English language instruction?
How does one motivate the content of language instruction?
The point of departure is English language instruction as it relates to the school and the teacher education subject, including views on language and subject.
Focus will be on language instruction with a particular interest in age-specialization. We will work both theoretically and experience-based with:
The text competence of the students.
The role of the teacher in relation to managing pupils’ learning and in making curricular and educational choices when teaching English.
Additionally we will continuously work with the development of each individual student as it relates to the content areas of the module.
